    Expressing love through letters

For the past few weeks, our middle and high school OCC kids have been walking through a study on God's love. This week, as a church family, we wanted to show love to one of our own who is serving with the military in Afghanistan. So we wrote letters. Lots of letters.

Kevin Ball sleeps with a gun across his chest. His sacrifice is our freedom. Today, we wanted the kids to understand the importance of thinking about someone other than themselves...about what it means to put everything before yourself....about what it means to serve. With our words, we want to show Kevin that we are grateful for what he has chosen to do. We want to show him that we care, that we are praying for him and the men and women that serve beside him.

We hope with these letters, he feels loved.

I am deeply thankful for the men and women who serve in the military. Grateful for their sacrifice so I can be free.

Kevin Ball, serving in the Middle East.
